Groupon - Robbing Monkey's

Am so annoyed ..... Anyone else had a similar experience or am I just a mug that needed to be taught a "too good to be true" lesson

£29 - super carpet 2x room clean

Guy: yea, few stains there, one there & look one there
Me: yes, hoping the super carpet clean can do the job
Guy: nah, that needs a chemical clean - but I'll do you a deal, I'll do both rooms choices clean for £20 cash
Me: ok, suppose only thing that will shift it
Guy: yea ... And to be fair, I'll throw you in the scotch guard for free on one of the rooms but will have to put it through the books, I can do you one room for free as the scotch guard will already be in the machine
Me: ok - but hang on ... I've already paid the £29 voucher, you £20 cash & now you want £30 through the books?
Guy: yea ... Well I've done it now (took the robbing bastard 20mins)

If you do a web search you will find lots of complaints
I am sure it works well for some but I don't want to take the risk

Yes optimist you're right .... Am annoyed at myself for being a wimp & not putting my foot down

I've used Groupon but for things like money off local attractions and hotel bookings and absolutely fine as I guess there aren't any hidden extras.
