Groupon - is it too good to be true?

|We've been looking at getting a new mattress and this one has come up on Groupon today.

I've been receiving their e-mails for ages, but never bought anything from them before. Is it OK, or has anyone had problems getting the product?

Purchased 2 things with Groupon. A cleaning service. Cleaners never showed up, Groupon refunded me. A photo canvas, ordered in November, still waiting. Would never use again!

I have got good deals with Groupon but you must read every single bit of small print and take screenshots of everything so that you know exactly what they have promised. They are notorious for being weasely.

For that particular deal I would look out for:

1 - it not being worth as much as they say it is - look up the cheapest memory foam mattress from silentnight and compare
2 - it perhaps being a poor-quality item that hasn't sold very well - look for sales/offers
3 - delivery costs £19.99
4 - allow up to 21 working days for delivery - that's about a month

Thanks for your replies.

Good idea Ninja about checking out the real value - that hadn't occured to me.

I use them for Brazillian Blow drys and have not had any probs.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 16/01/2012 10:36

Ha! Found the same one on Amazon for £10 less with free delivery Grin

Not sure I'll be needing any brazilian blow drys atm, but thanks for the tip Confused

Thanks TBE.

I think this is one of those cases where spending a bit more will get a much better product. What did you get instead?

Silent night do not have a good reputation for lasting and all foam mattresses are usually absolute crap! You could get a decentish pocket sprung mattress for a similar price :)

When I said all foam, I meant they are not sprung at all.

Lol I realised I was quite unclear in what I had written.
Op you definitely could get a better one for not much more. I am looking to replace mine and I have been quite confused. I am thinking of buying any old pocket sprung that is firm with a warranty now as I am bit fed up and any mattress I have tried out is comfier than my current one!
So I will be watching this for recommendations :)
