We are in the Midlands and travelling by train so we are limited to these 3 really as all the others are a bit too far. Which is the best one?

marton mere is nice and easy to get to by bus from train station at blackpool. CALA GRAN was a bit far out for us, site not as nice either.I havent been to burnham on sea sorry.

b-o-s steer clear, it's about 10 miles from us and there really is nothing there!!

frazzled74 · 14/01/2011 22:56

marton mere is very close to zoo and stanley park. bus stops at park entrance and goes to blackpool centre and seafront.

Burnham On Sea was the biggest pile of poop ever! There is nothing to do at all! MM is best! :)

ILoveShinyThings · 15/01/2011 16:22

I have name changed for this.
I live in Burnham-On-Sea.
Do not go on holiday there. Living here is ok but I wouldn't go on holiday here!

Of all the Havens I have been to Marton Mere and Cala Gran are the worst. Stay clear.

coolkat · 15/01/2011 21:39

nappyaddict · 16/01/2011 11:32

(sorry to hijack)

anyone been to devon cliffs?

gibba8 · 16/01/2011 19:51

We have been to a lot of Haven sites as my daughter loves them but in these two parks the caravans were so close together that you could hear the people in the next caravan talking/shouting/walking around.

These 2 parks are small and appear run down and did not seem as well looked after as other parks-eg litter,,rubbish.

Try Ribby Hall Holiday village (8 miles out of Blackpool) where you can get a modern clean cottage for a similar price and the park is so much nicer than the Blackpool Havens. There is a bus stop right outside the park direct into Blackpool.

i think Marton Mere was the one my sister in law booked for their kids a couple of years ago. i remember her saying it was a good holiday, although this must have been in 2007? or maybe 2008, and since i haven't been there myself i can't 100% truthfully vouch for it. but i reckon that was the one she said was nice, at the time, if that help!

nappyaddict · 17/01/2011 01:21

gibba I just looked at that Ribby Hall website and they are quoting anything from 225 upwards so it's a lot more than the Sun holidays!!
