My brain is telling me not to touch it with a bargepole! You have to buy 'credits' and it seems the cheapest is £10 for 20 credits. You then bid for new electrical stuff - ipods, games consoles etc and have the chance of getting them at (suspiciously?) low prices. I think the last person to bid befre the time is up gets it (or something like that). ANyway each time you bid, it costs you a credit (ie 50p). Even as I type I;m thinking 'dodgy' but just wondered.....

Basically you are buying a raffle ticket. As soon as you place a bid extra time is added, so it is difficult to be the last bid.

Obviously you pay the bid price on top of the cost of the bids. I am sure it is possible to get the odd bargain, but I think it is much easier to spend an awful lot of money on bids which are unsuccessful and for which you get nothing.

Do the maths on the amount of money coming into the site (ie no. of bids x cost of bid) per item and you can see how much money these sites are raking in.

I would stay well away....It is gambling, designed to be addictive and yet manages to avoid regulation . A friend's teenage daughter decided to have a go on a similar site - Swoopo, which is why I hung around and looked. I then found lots of sites of people bemoaning how much money they had spent on it.
