BTEC? - Good idea?

My daughter is currently in Year 11 at a private school. She loves her school, but she doesn’t like the GCSE and A-level system, particularly the emphasis on exams and the percentage of the final grade that depends on them.
She has told me that she would prefer to do a BTEC Diploma instead (in Science, IT or Business) so she has asked me about changing schools. She is studying Art or Drama GCSE, but she really enjoys coursework and practical work.
Do you think this is a good reason to consider changing schools? Are there any private schools in London that offer BTEC Diplomas?

Most private schools offer either a levels or the IB.

BTECs can be done at lower gcse grades than a levels and are generally an alternative to a levels for those with a lower GCSE grade profile.

most FE colleges offer them.

Btec Tech award is a 2 year course starting from Y10, I don't think it is a good time to switch to Btec Tech award in Y11.

She can consider Btec Level 3 in Y12, which is less academic and easy to get good grade. Usually, you have to complete different units in 2 years, some are courseworks some are exams, for unit assessed in an external exam way, students has 3 chance to sit the exams and only highest grade will be counted.

St Chris in Letchworth has a bus network to North London and offers both A levels and BTECs

actually I believe she will get good gcse’s to do A level. her predicted grades are between 7-9 (year 10 summer grade card), and 6 from spanish. But she hates revising for exams and she finds it so stressful - she likes to do coursework, homework or projects/presentation so she thinks it will be more suitable for her

Does it need to be private education?
Can't she just go to your local college?

She needs to be careful - BTECs now have a chunk which is assessed as end of two year exam, plus she needs to check what modules the school/college offers (there are several options that can be taught to gain the same qualification). She may rule out some of the more highly selected unis though so be careful. Would a mix of AL and BTEC be a possibility?

Edit: A science degree in particularly could be tricky. Exeter for example says BTEC DDM required for Biology, but the detailed requirements also say BTEC applicants also need two science A levels.
