Private schools with substantial scholarships / generous bursaries / means tested scholarships

I'm aware of the King's scholarship at Westminster, Christ's Hospital with generous bursaries, and Winchester with a 25% scholarship that stacks with bursaries.

Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Just seen the Olympiad and wondered about Millfield's, but I don't know about their bursary options. They are the sportiest private school so may look on that as a brilliant attribute, but they are not particularly academic. Having said that if your DC works hard I am sure they would have the ability to encourage their academics as well.

i think the Op is talking about the Olympiads (eg the British Maths Olympiad) not the Olympics. So an academic achievement not a sporting one.

Bursaries will be offered based upon financial need and scholarship, typically based upon criteria, academic or otherwise, in which the school is looking to attract a student.

Have you looked at Wellington College? They have a separate bursary pathway on their website for pupils that might need 90% + assistance and with their high fees I suppose that would align with the 60-90 k income families as well as lower income families. However I'd assume your child would have to play at least some level of sport in addition to academic achievements for the best chance of getting in.
