CEM test for 7+?

Has anyone considered CEM test prior to 7+? Debating whether to move my 6 yo DS from lovely non-selective prep to a selective through school (largely to avoid 11+) and this has been suggested as a helpful way to decide what might be best. Interested in any thoughts... thank you

I worked in a school that used CEM for our 7+ assessments. In this situation it could be useful to help prepare your child for the style that the questions are asked. If you are applying to schools that don't use CEM or are paper based assessments then it is probably not worth the money as there are better ways to help prep for the 7+ 😎

@MyTwoDads thank you, it was more to decide whether moving him would be the best decision (I think (aside from mum bias!) that he is very bright and thus potentially a selective school would be better but reluctant to move a happy child from a lovely prep. If he scored exceptionally highly on CEM then might sway me to move him, if that makes sense?

@pinkmud80 ah yes, I see. CEM is rather expensive - not sure what it is for individual purchases as we subscribed for the whole prep school. But, as you say, it could be worth it to get an understanding of his working age in the various subjects.
