School report - Reception

We received our son’s school report this morning and I assume all schools use the same scoring system (1-4 for learner outcomes and attitude to learning). 1 is only given if a child is working above the expected level, but no one received a 1 in any subject. I feel like this is a redundant way of grading kids in lower school? Do you know many reception kids that receive a 1? My son is getting all 2s and 3s so I assume he is working as expected but of course we want him to do the best he can.

This is your school's own system so best ask the teacher about it.

He’s 4 or 5. I’d relax. Sounds like he (and they) are doing fine.

Ours are not graded like that. Ours show as 'working under expected' 'working at expected' and 'working at a level higher than expected'. I guess you will have to ask them. I cant imagine in reception there will be many that work to an exceeding level of age related expectation. Your DC sounds like they are where they are supposed to be.

No.

state schools use the eyfs framework and the early learning goals.

this system sounds like it us just your school so you need to ask them
