Hendon prep

Would you send your child to a prep like that if you might not send him to an independent all through

We live in catchment for archer academy (0.3 miles) where 50% to 66% of the kids go onto woodhouse which is a really good sixth form colleges (top 5 in the country). So this is a very viable option for us. We live in a small flat but we could probably stay here as we are only having DS (dh had a vasectomy).

The reason why i am considering hendon prep is it looked a lot better than our state alternative, small class size and also 11 plus prep in case child wanted to compete for the very competitive independents or even QE boys and better wrap around care. Also felt gentle and nurturing. I didnt really like my local alternatives

But would kids feel out of place if all his classmates are entering 8 independent school exams and our son isnt as he has a state comprehensive to go to if he doesnt get into the target private school/QE boys. We are also jewish so can also go to Jcoss (we are more on the progressive end).

Not all his classmates will go on to independent schools. Children change as they grow up and relative ability changes. JCoSS is an excellent school to aim for.You will be giving him a good start.

Hendon prep is an excellent school and in current year 6 not everyone is going to independent senior schools. It has small class sizes and it has become part of blenheim schools which is putting ££ into upgrades like an immersive classroom and a new science fab lab! My DS is there are loving every minute of it!
