North London 11+ 2026 entry

I can't see any support thread for 2026 entry for North london, feeling anxious about the results coming out this Friday! Anyone feeling the same??

Absolutely. You need to go and get a feel for the schools yourself and see whether the school is a good fit for you and your child and what you're looking for. My post should not be taken as a negative view of SHHS, it's an exceptional school, we just don't know if it's the right fit for us.

I’ve emailed them three times now saying the above and left messages. They’ve acknowledged emails but aren’t answering calls, what else can I do? Thanks!

if you have emailed and they have acknowledged that’s great - hopefully it’s bumped you further up the list. They need to know you will accept and will be ready to pay asap

Our prep head has told us to manage expectations and that it’s unlikely the WL for City will move and to pick from one of the offers.
quite disappointed and down about it all but trying to be upbeat for my son. I really thought it would move.

So we went to offerholders at City today, there were about 20 boys there. We have gone with Highgate. It was such a close call but ultimately feels like a better. Someone else there told us similar that they weren't likely to accept either due to logistics and location, so just letting you know as there may be some movement (Offerholders finished at 4pm so decisions likely to be made in many households this evening!) Good luck!

Agree - we were at the same event. A family said they were picking City over Highgate as they live closer, another going with Habs as larger space and sporting facilities. For these schools - there is little to delineate the academics - so fit and commute/logistics really shift it. I am sure you will hear something soon @EverydayPuzzling

@newmummycwharf1 @nookandcrannying May I ask whether the offerholders at City you went yesterday, was that the original offersholders day or the one for people on the waiting list?

For us - we asked to see the school as we missed the original offerholders day. I know at least 1 family where that was also the case. Others may have been WL - not sure. Original offerd day was last week

We were on reserve list and then got offer on Friday.

@NookAndCrannyingdo you know by any chance whether City has offered anyone else apart from you from the reserve list?

I'm afraid I don't know. I had (wrongly) assumed that all 20 people there were people who were offered from the reserve list.

We know three families that were originally on WL, got an offer last Friday and where invited to the event yesterday, which was also a backup event for those families that couldn't attend the main offer holders event last week. I would imagine the boys that were moved up from the WL last Friday are only a handful that were initially borderline (I understand the school have been VERY conservative with their offers this year), so there might be movement after the acceptance deadline. Hang in there!

Hi! We went for the visit this morning and it felt really good — we were very impressed. There were about 20 families there. They said offers would start being sent out from around midday, but I haven’t heard anything yet, so I’m starting to feel a bit worried.

Thank you. We haven’t heard anything yet. They said there is currently places available, but they are over-offered and are waiting to hear back from everyone. They are chasing them to accept or decline today after our tour finish, so we have to wait until this evening to know what will happen.

Anyone on the waitlist for Belmont and heard back?

@insomniac1 i have a few friends waiting and they haven’t heard yet. Seems like it’s a very large wait list they run.
