St M Hampstead or Bushey?

My dd went to Bushey and sd to RMS (some time ago) which I think was more academic. Personally I don’t think St M was anything special, most of her friends were tutored outside school. She did have a good social life though.

My daughter started in the prep (Cadogan) at RMS and is now in senior. She is happy, confident and the automatic entry to senior school worked for her. Have you thought about distance/ travel?

DD went to RMS and had a great time. Have family friends who went to St Margaret’s. They feel they ‘product’ they were ‘sold’ very convincingly by the head is not what they got in reality. Most get told how good everything is without any evidence to back it up. Better choices in that area.

Isn’t St Margaret’s co-ed now? So very different to RMS.

What are you looking for from a school?

ForBlueDog · 17/04/2026 13:31

Yes co-ed now. Mine left at the start of all that. Same head. A few of us weren’t fans but as ours were leaving we didn’t see the point raising it. Would say depends on what you are looking for. My experience is you get a more honest ‘sell’ commensurate with lived experience at RMS.
