Does anyone have children at Cranleigh and are you happy with it? Considering moving a sporty and bright son there. Which are the main sports for boys, is it rugby, hockey and cricket ? Do they have Saturday school? I see 75% board, does it matter if you don’t ? Thanks

Its very sporty, there's football too as well as squash and all sorts. Not all of the boarders stay every night and weekends. I can't remember about Saturdays. The Head is very well respected and its a great community with low staff turnover.

I have 2 boys at the senior school who are very happy. Wonderful school for children who want to be busy! Main sports for boys are rugby, hockey and cricket although football now offered instead of hockey. Lots of other sports on offer for boys and girls.
Saturday school followed by sport. New day and more flexible boarding options on offer from September. Day boys fully integrated with the boarders.
New head, Mrs Price, fantastic and definitely moving the school forward.

I’ve got one boy in the senior and one boy still at Cranleigh Prep. Both very happy. Both are day boys but for the senior, still fully integrated into the boarding houses. Boarding is 75% overall but the percentage is lower than that in the first couple to years and higher than that for sixth form. Expecting new day plus (flexi boarding) to be fab and both mine keen to board a little bit but still come home most nights (we are local). Mrs Price is brilliant, very impressed with her so far.

Sport is great and pretty flexible. My eldest does rugby, hockey and tennis but might switch hockey for football next year. Lots of squash, badminton , climbing, x-country, golf etc going on.

They have a wide ability range at the senior but the upper sets are pushed pretty hard.

Not a fan of Saturday school tbh, but the kids don’t seem to mind too much!
