Current feedback on Bloxham please

It's early days, but I am looking for options for DD7 to help us plan. She is likely to be day (VAT makes boarding out of reach) and is currently a high flier academically. She also really enjoys sport/music/art/DT so we are keen to find a school that can nurture her to her potential across the board.

Bloxham is our nearest school - but I know my opinions are coloured by gossip from my own time at school, in the 1990s. I'm really keen to hear from anyone with recent experience of the school.

I visited and was really impressed - the atmosphere was really positive, there was so much to do, and I was shown round by a couple of sixth formers who are aiming for top universities and felt that the school was stretching them well without undue pressure. It felt worlds better than Cokethorpe. But I’d love to hear from someone with children at Bloxham if there’s anyone here.

We know two families there who are very happy, 3 dc between them of whom two are pretty academic and one less so. Loads of extracurricular, sport etc.
we visited and applied for ds1, he got a place but it was our second choice as significantly further away from choice 1 which he now attends.
That is general I know but we would have gone with bloxham if we didn’t get the much closer school.
agree much stronger than cokethorpe although if you want a completely day school then cokethorpe provides that option.
we looked at kingham hill as well, not for us but you should consider everything within the radius that is possible. Also look at the schools with extensive bus routes.
