Westminster Under School / schools going co-ed

Hi all, my daughter is lucky to have a 7+ offer for next year at WUS. We are thrilled and most likely will be accepting it. However, as this will be the first intake to include girls, I am seeking advice from others who have experience in similar situations at schools that have transitioned from boys only to coed on what questions to ask the school, or things to look out for. One concern I have is how quickly they can ramp up the sports and extracurriculars to account for the more stereotypical girls’ activities for example netball or dance. All in all, we are aware there will be a period of adaptation, and keen to help condense and improve it in whatever ways we can. Any advice appreciated!

My twins (boy and girl) are at St John’s Beaumont, Year 2. They went coed in 2023, but still only 30 girls vs 220 boys I think. My daughter befriended a girl from Year 1 and some boys - plus she has a number of girlfriends from our previous school and we see them regularly. I don’t see how they will have girl sport teams for a number of years, a decade evrn, but it’s not an issue for me - as long as my twins are relatively healthy and my daughter does some individual sports, it’s ok. I wonder if, given that Westminster is a much more famous nationwide (worldwide?) brand, there will be many more girls in a shorter space of time. Ask them about pros and cons of not having a girl team.

Also in terms of typical girl after school clubs - at SJB they have tap/ general dancing I think, but I tend to take mine out of school to afterschool clubs. Again, I wouldn’t expect a super quick transition from my experience.
