We’re Thinking about Brighton College for our DS. Sixth form. Do any of you lovely people have experience of or comments on the place? It’s got a reputation but is very expensive!! Wondering if it’s worth it, or not. Any good points / bad points / experiences? Thank you 🙏

You need to be fully invested in every aspect of the education for it to work. They get a lot of homework, and there is a lot of pressure to do well. The teachers are great and the pastoral care is good and they are very used to kids having wobbles due to the pressure. But it is a lot. If your child works hard they will excel. If they are lazy or not very motivated or not overly bright they'll find it very full on and probably a bit much. Lots of weekend commitments too, despite being a Mon-Fri school.

Thank you, that is good advice. The weekend commitments could be an issue (if not just sport).

It’s all in-all encompassing full on pressure cooker but absolutely brilliant for the right child (very bright & strong in extra curricular) All the schools are expensive if you’re paying you might as well add a few ££££ to pay for the best of the best-but only for the right child.
