Children's House / Gower / Lyceum

Hi There

We are looking at the above three schools for our boys. I know there are some older threads about the Gower, but it would be great to have any more recent views about it. I have seen some positive views about the Children's House. One of my concerns is about it's anticipated growth on a small site. Won't it be too cramped? I haven't seen anything about the Lyceum and would be very grateful for any views!

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to respond!

The Gower and Lyceum were popular options for dcs in our dd's old nursery - they all seem to be happy there. I visited both and wasn't keen on the lack of outdoor space, but that's common for central London schools (we ended up going further north but to a girls' prep so not useful to you). I preferred Lyceum over the Gower, as the music and arts provision seemed better and the staff/head issues at Gower put me off, but as I said I know families who are happy at both. I know less about CH, except one girl who went there and then moved to my dd's prep, so I think they weren't happy with it, but not sure why.

Thanks so much @SnoresRoars for your comments! Yes, I agree the space is very limited at CH (both inside and outside) and that is one of my main reservations, particularly given the older year groups are currently very small (less than 10 kids) and each will be looking to expand to 20 pupils. I was wondering whether the headteacher/staff concerns were still ongoing at the Gower - sounds like that is the case? We are going to look around the Lyceum soon which does look great - slightly opposite to you I am a bit worried as we aren't a musical or artsy family and I worry that means we won't be a good fit for it. Thanks again for taking the time.

Nothing useful to add for now but also interested in these schools. Lyceum would be
convenient for us but I feel I hear very little about it (eg on here) compared to the Gower so am keen to hear if anyone has further insights!

This post is really helpful. As we are leaving N Family Club and considering The Children House. We managed to talk to a member of staff about the most recent incident that took place there. And look forward to attending the viewing. But it would be good to have a parent’s perspective.

Does anyone know what the staff issues at the Gower are supposed to be? I liked it a lot so keen to get a sense of this…
