Hi all, have any of you put your children through a fast paced private school and regretted it? Or did you taken them out? Thanks.

By ‘faced paced’ do you mean academically selective/hot-house type of school? If so my DC is at one. It’s hugely demanding, the school days are long and the homework is a lot, but for the right person it can be great. Completely depends on the individual & whether they’ll thrive in and enjoy that environment (many don’t & a handful of children leave DCs school every year because it’s just not working).

DS went to a top private school and thrived there. He needed the competition and the discipline. He was also able to do music and sports. The school was also very caring and supported him when he missed a term through illness. He always says it was absolutely the right school for him. He also made a group of life long friends.

@Sherbetlemonsformethanks for your reply. Yes this school is a fast-paced environment. Worried that my DS won’t cope? He used to suffer pretty bad with anxiety however he has come on loads the past year. Doing very well at school however he does lack some confidence. I guess I’m worried a fast/paced environment isn’t for him

@Rocknrollstarthank you I feel a little reassured 😊 and also worried the environment becomes too much for him 😩
