Hello,

Looking for some recommendations for schools in Surrey that would suit a bright but incredibly shy autistic girl. She's in a local prep school now but they haven't come up with any real guidance so keen to get views from those that have already at appropriate senior schools.

Thank You!

It's been a few years since mine were there but Ewell Castle were good and are now fully co-ed.

They really should be giving guidance? I won’t ask where you are as would be quite outing. But I really would make a meeting and ask for their advice. They have seen your daughter in a school setting so have all that information….

Thank You both, will look at Ewell Castle.

We've had meetings with our prep school but they were able to suggest what wouldn't be a good fit but not really what would be a good fit.

Kingswood House School in Epsom
Sutton High School (proactive SEN team and at an open day they mentioned they have many Neuro diverse girls)

You might want to see what you think of Frensham Heights

I’m not sure where in Surrey you are, but I’ve heard St George’s Ascot caters well for academic girls alongside being nurturing of different SEN needs. I think this is probably helped by their small class sizes.

Caterham. The were awesome with my autistic DD, who was diagnosed after she got there. Took them 6 weeks to realise something was up - previous school had not noticed for 5 years. She thrived there. Great pastoral support and lots of experience with autistic girls. Alternative might be Downsend - not sure what their provision is like but also excellent pastorally and whatever they do, they do it properly.
