Second bursary at a second school for child number 2?

Dc1 receives a bursary of 50% in year 8.

Dc 2 starts school this year but dc1 school only offers bursary from year 7.

Could we place dc2 in a prep school where they offer a bursary? Would dc1 school allow this as such?

Thank you.

Ask them…

You have to ask them. All schools have different policies..

Are bursaries at one school impacted by bursaries at another?
I don’t really understand how your elder child’s school has any say in where you send your younger child?? Surely they are 2 completely different things? Is this a common issue that I’m completely unaware of?

Noone can answer this for you, you need to contact the school directly.

The issue is whether school no 1 will say "if you have spare money to spend on private education for child no 2, you don't need the bursary we have been giving you"

Only way to find out their policy is to ask but I would say your chances of a bursary at prep level aren't usually that high full stop - have you found a school that gives them?

Yes. There are a couple nearby who do. Dc1 school doesn’t for prep otherwise we’d be asking dc2 to stay on there as they are in the preschool currently.

I think you’ll find it far harder to get a bursary anywhere now, thanks to the VAT
