Merger of The Cedars and The Laurels

Good morning,

Would anyone have any feedback on the forthcoming merger of the boys' and girls' schools? I'm keen to know what the mood is with parents and pupils and teachers as I have been considering the Laurels.

I'm wondering if provision for girls is going to be maintained, we were looking at the Laurels as an alternative to Old Palace which sadly closed.

Or any other recommendations for schools in the area to look at. I'm afraid we have rules out GDST.

Can I ask why you have ruled out GDST schools? The obvious one, if you were looking at Old Palace, is Croydon .high and there is Sutton, Bromley, Streatham and Clapham nearish. I don't know of anywhere that is single sex in that locality. Sorry.

Ot St David's in Purley for Juniors. Not sure if it is mixed though. Nice school.

Thanks very much. The GDST decision was because I'd heard that staffing was likely to become an issue after the trust changed teacher renumeration. The sector is facing many difficulties.

We're at Croydon High for Juniors and love it. Would absolutely recommend it
