Deferred entry to y7

Another question - for entry to prep, can a child sit the exam say in y5 and then defer entry to y7? Sorry I am new to all this and a little confused!

You'll have to ask your possible future school/s what their arrangements are. There's no one standard approach in the independent sector.

Generally for prep school entry for yrs 7-8, I'd expect the admissions exams/interviews/taster days to be in the run up to the entry point rather than allocated a year or more in advance.
