Do you know of any independent prep schools that use high street uniforms?

As part of the response to cost of living / VAT coming etc in my school is looking at the cost of uniforms. Currently uniforms are supplied by a specialist school outfitters and are EXPENSIVE, especially given the not brilliant quality. I'd like to suggest a high street version (e.g. M&S) perhaps augmented by a school crest that could be applied. Do any other independent prep schools do this?

Suggest to them, non uniform. DT’s school- non uniform from ages 4-18. So much cheaper, no bullying or wasting time policing non compliance and much more practical.

My grandaughters school has a blazer, kilt or pinafore and tie. As long as these and black shoes are worn anything else can be bought from anywhere as long as they are navy apart from the blouse. The only things they are strict about is the sports kit. The second hand sale does a bomb every year and my daughter gets so much uniform handed down from friends she also passes it on.
When i see state schools insisting on branded uniform and everything must be bought in certain stores i'm actually shocked.
