Just that really, if you are paying for private education (secondary) what feedback do you get in terms of;

Reports
Grades
Parents evening
Anything else

Specifically I am thinking of year 8 & 9, appreciate GCSE / A level years will be different.

Thanks

We get grades every half term for effort and attainment and then a fuller report from all the subjects at the end of each term. We also get one pastoral parents' evening and one parents' evening with all the subject teachers per year. You can also just arrange an appointment at any time and teachers are incredibly responsive to emails.

A parents evening or a report each term.

A call in the first week or two of the autumn term from the form tutor, or an email with the offer of a call.

A welcome to the year event with a chance to meet the form tutor in September.

Some sort of in person event about the curriculum most terms, it’s usually around a specific thing for that year eg language choices. It’s a chance to ask other questions, too.

Emails about specific issues - I’d get a response within a day from the form tutor, and I’ve also got the Head of Year’s email and can cc her if I think it’s needed.

Thank you - this is very helpful and in line with what I was expecting (and am not receiving). My DC is achieving highly and happy so no major concerns at all but I think the contact with parents is much too limited. I should obviously have asked all of this before choosing the school. Everything else so far has been very good which is something and contact via email etc has been excellent (although not needed it much). But parents evenings and any opportunity to meet or speak to teachers has been minimal.
