List of schools who have applied for academy status

There is a list that has been published of those schools who have applied for academy status - or so the newspaper article says
www.cypnow.co.uk/news/ByDiscipline/Education/1012637/total-1639-schools-applied-academy -status-says-DfE/

My son's school is on it, yet we received a letter this week saying that they would not be making an application because there was not enough information about it yet.

I heard from one of the Governors that this was a site where you could register for more information.

So what is this list? Have these schools actually made applications?

Apparently the school I work at has applied and I didn't know!! I may have missed being told as I am part-time so don't get to all meetings but I would have thought we should have been informed.

I followed your link and there was an article but no list!

Well purely from the link title it seems the list is a list of schools CONSIDERING or getting more info, not alist of those who have?

That's what I thought. It is reported in the press as 'schools who have applied' but I don't think that is right.

Well, technically they have applied. But applied for more info. Some numpty at the press office obviously doesnt know the difference!

if you look at the link it specifically says that these are the schools that have registered an interest in receiving further information and this should not be taken as a decision or a commitment to applying for academy status.
