Names have been changed:
Valerie ahs 2 friends, Gemma and Lucy. Gemma and Lucy do not like each other very much; Gemma really dislikes Lucy, while Lucy isn't that bothered. Both of them like Valerie.
Sometimes Valerie plays with Gemma and her friends, and sometimes she plays with Lucy, who doesn't seem to play with anyone else very much.
Outside school, Gemma often goes to Valerie's house (and their mums are friends, though not best mates). Lucy and Valerie meet up about once a month, mainly to go swimming together.
Recently, Gemma has told Valerie that she must tell Lucy that she (Valerie) hates her, thinks she's stupid, slow, boring, and doesn't want to be friends with her.
Valerie's mum has got wind of this and has told Valerie that she must on no account say such horrible things to anyone. Valerie has told Gemma what her mum says, and now Gemma is not speaking to Valerie at all, and is calling her a liar.
Naturally, Valerie is upset as she and Gemma have been friends for a long time.
