Any parents with children attending Dulwich college kindergarten?

Interested to hear views of any parents who send their child(ren) to DUCKS. Our son will be starting this September and we have been very keen for him to go there. However, I came across some very poor reviews by a parent on the internet, which has worried me somewhat. Specifically I'm interested to know:

  • how well does DUCKS prepare children for 7+ exams?
  • what is the percentage of students that are accepted at Dulwich College?
  • what is your opinion of the staff and how supportive are they of individual children's needs?

Thanks!

a friend of a friend of ours daughter has been offered a place for Sept - however, due to distance they are on the waiting list of a school that is nearer and apparently will turn the ducks place down if offered the nearer school. I think they are small class sizes (16?-might affect potential friends pool). I also heard that they sit the same tests at 7 that external candidates (think there may be lots applying then) sit so some may be asked to leave then - not sure about this though. I'm sure that you will be invited to a 'new starters' day and you could ask some of these questions then.

Thanks. Yes we'll be going to the parent's evening with questions. We are on the waitlist for another school for 2011, so we will still have an option if we are unhappy with Ducks. However, I do not really want to uproot DS several times, especially since he will have to move to another school at 7 in any case.

Ducks is also not very close to us, so logistically it will be difficult as well. That's why I am now questioning whether it will be worth the hassle !!
