I'm just wondering what national (or even loca1) results would normally be. I'm particularly interested in maths. For example, how many students would be expected to reach achieve a 3 in maths?

I was looking at a neighboring school's results from last year on their website and they say that over 40% of their year 2 students got a 3. Isn't this really high?

I think, last year, the national percentage of students attaining level 3+ in the KS1 sats was:

Reading 28%
Writing 13%
Maths 23%

Gosh, so almost 1/4 of the nation gets a 3 in math.

In my area the local, non-selective private schools expect 75% at L3 and I can think of several state schools-including those in less affluent parts of town- that get 30% or more at L3.

I thought private school didn't do SATs?
