Following on from another thread - are you happy to get 30-odd bottles of wine? As a primary teacher or TA - what would you actually like?

Well- you can certainly tell all the teachers' cars in our school's car park... they are the oldest and smallest ones by far. Paid too much? Get real.

All the ideas for gifts are great, as are the reasons for not giving gifts! (Except the obviously designed-to-provoke-an-argument ones!) Riven, don't feel like you have to buy a present, although appreciated they are not expected. I know from experience that sometimes it is the children who put the pressure on to buy a gift, if they desperately want to do something let them make a card/Christmas tree ornament(all you need us coloured card, glitter and left over cards from years gone by, messy but great fun)/write a Christmassy poem etc. These things need little or no money and can stop the nagging round Tesco for best teacher mugs/mouse mats etc. Obviously this is only if your child wants to do it. If it would not be from them and they are not bothered, go forth and treat YOURSELF to a nice bottle of wine... After all, you are going to have the little treasures for the next 2 weeks so you deserve it!
