Anyone elses DC want to wear their uniform on non-uniform day even though they know they will be the only ones?

Bad bad mummy forgot it was mufti day today to bring in donations for the christmas fayre. I have been so busy sorting him a pirate costume out for Children in Need next week I totally forgot they'd got 2 mufti Fridays in a row. We arrived late at nursery because DS was faffing around putting his uniform on (ironically). When we arrived at school I realised and said let's get you changed I've got some spare clothes in your bag but he refused and wanted to stay in his uniform even though I told him he would be the only one in uniform.

They really aren't bothered at that age-there are usually a couple.

ds1 was like that until y6 - I think it's a comfort thing of wearing what you're really familiar with

And he didn't mind being the only one in his uniform? DS wasn't bothered but I thought it's cos he's only 3 ... perhaps not!! Did the other children ever say anything to your DS?

There are always a few in the infant classes who forget to tell mum. It gets more unusual further up the school, but some DCs have no interest in what they wear and are likely to be very dismissive if a friend thinks they should be interested.
