Came home, looked at me, had obviously been holding it in all day and then sobbed and sobbed and sobbed.

Her best friend is going to a different school which doesn't help either.

Aw poor thing.

Can you take her out and do something special tomorrow?

ah, had this yesterday with ds, really wasn't expecting
him to be so upset poor thing, he is also going to a different school than his friends.

Ahhhh. My DD has just been bawling her eyes out, last day of Y2, moving up to the juniors - completely separate school - in September.

Have you got something nice planned for tonight/this weekend or maybe she just needs pizza, chocolate and to cry over Mum.

Ahh bless her. Dd1 doesn't finnish until Tuesday, but we had tears on Thursday after the leavers assembly and prom, and will no doubt have more.

I can't remember leaving yr6 at all.

She has cheered up, I think getting it all out has helped.

She has been bullied a bit by two particular girls over the last three years and had finally found a really nice girl to be friends with over the last couple of months, who is going to the different school. They will still see each other out of school but I guess it is not quite the same.

We are going to a party tomorrow and I think I will get take away for tonight.

DD2 was like that last year, and DD1 the year before. Both were going onto schools without their close friends. Now 1 and 2 years on they've both made lots of new friends at their new school, and still see (especially during holidays) their closest friends from primary school, which has been lovely, and now they're starting to get into Facebook, and are reconnecting again with other friends from their previous school.

Yes I have been asked to reinstate MSN (took it off last year as it was taking over our lives, mmmm a bit like MN then!)

See that's the difference between boys and girls !.Watched the girls come out sobbing and hugging their friends.The boys came out laughing and cheering.

ds1 was sad when he left primary. He loved everything at that school. He said if he could have just one wish it would be that his primary built a new wing for secondary, so that he'd never have to leave.

However, now - a year on - he's just had the best year ever. His teachers are fab, he's made new friends, and grown up an immense amount and become very independent.

DS1 has just left today and the weepathon has begun upstairs... The school now tries to moderate the hysteria and the wailing - but all the end of term concerts, Year 6 productions, class parties and leavers' discos have jtaken their toll. They've all got signed T-shirts, embossed hoodies, key rings and dictionaries!

DS1 is the only one going to his secondary school, so is apprehensive. But it's great that he's had such a wonderful time that he feels so sad to leave! And DS2 has 3 more years...

It's all very emotionally charged in schools - large groups of yr 6s walk around sobbing, sometimes for most of the last week. Hard not to get swept up in it.
