Ex teacher out of my depth, Moving back to the UK, need help getting ds's English up to scratch....please...

Hi, We moved to Austria 4 years ago when the boys were 3 and 5, ds1 had done Reception so had basics of English, ds2 had been with the CM until we came out. Obviously here they have been to German speaking Kindergarten and now school, and they speak English at home so they're pretty much bilingual. That's all great BUT we're moving back (when the house sells)and they are going to be way behind with reading and writing English, so can anyone suggest any online resources to help them get to an acceptable standard or any workbooks or similar that I can get my Mum to post to me?English until now has been secondary obviously but they finish school this week and have 9 weeks holiday, I didn't think a few extra English lessons would go amiss, without the added stresses of their German work.

They would be just finishing Year 4 and Year 2 in the UK.

I was a teacher in the UK, but before we moved I had been teaching Nursery for the last 6 years or so, which is why I feel so out of date.

you get a free trial and you should get an idea of what is expected mybe you could see if they can do the maths 'quizzes'for their age. You may even find that in Maths they are way beyond the standard here
Handwriting here is all cursive but when I lived in Germany im letzten Jahrhundert! all the kids wrote joined up anyway

these are a good range of cheapish workbooks which will give you a good idea of key spelling
otherwise try googling coxhoe durham. This is a primary school which has made all its links available to us all
