I saw these in store, they are very thin and didnt look like they would wash well. Online the reviews are good but having seen them i'm not sure they would live upto the hype.

At £2 for the smaller sizes, I'm not sure they have much to live up to! The fine cotton knit is good; primary schools can be hot places, and layered with a vest and shirt they should be warm enough in school.

The school my DS is going to has regulation jumpers at £15 each - that's £75 for five! At age 4/5 they will grow out of them within a year, and with five - one a day, I think they'll last the time just fine.

I guess if people scrimp on uniform and only buy two to keep constantly recycling, then they may get knackered fast, but I like to have plenty of uniform, after all they wear it 40 weeks of the year, and not find I never have clean, ironed stuff on a thursday or Friday morning.

I might try one for the autumn months and see how they wash. I like the Adams jumpers the best but they no longer sell them online so it will be back to the Next ones for Yr 2.

I agree re constant use, DS has 6 of everything so that he can have clean everyday if needed and a spare for replacing anything stained etc. Means I dont have to worry about laundry mid week.

I'm a totally overboard person with uniform - minimum 5 of everything, and usually 8 polos/shirts. I hate that Friday feeling of 'Oh Sh*t, there's no clean/ironed shirt/trousers/jumper'. Mine don't change after school - I've never seen the point, they just have clean everything on every day.

I'm starting uni in Sept after 12 years as a SAHM so am being obsessively prepared, and have DS3 starting high school and DS4 starting primary, I already have all their uniform. Each has 5 pairs of trousers, 9 shirts (they were packs of 3-for-2 ), 15 pairs of school socks (ditto), 2 ties, 5 jumpers and 2 sets of PE kit each.

Its a l-o-n-g time since I was a 'working mum'
