Borough sports day... ds fed up at not taking part.

I just wondered what other primaries do about things like this.
Ds's school seem to have, like most things, organised this in a rush at the last minute. The teacher who is sort of in charge of sport in the school has chosen about 8 children from ds's class, they are mostly the ones who are good at sport but there were no heats or apparent selection process.
I'm happy for pure meritocracy in things like this but there seems to have been an untransparent selection process. I'd like to say to my son the best kids went, but I can't say that because like so many things the school tells us nothing about how children are chosen for opportunities like this.

Go in and ask the teacher. It's the only way you'll find out.

Does your ds think that the people chosen are the best? The children usually know that sort of thing!

Thanks seeker I just did and apparently there were heats of some kind and the fastest were chosen. I'm much happier, particularly because my son knows too that it's a fair process. They often don't explain things to the children so there are muddles which arise.
