What you ring the other parent to apologise?

Ds (reception) hit another child in school today and made his nose bleed.
Obviously ds has had a good talking to.
Should I ring the other mum to apologise?

i think all this make a card, apologise stuff is a bit over the top. don't you trust the schools to deal with it?
