I am doing a radio show next week to give advice on teaching your child at home,(not home schooling though), how to help your child to read, what to do if you suspect your child has learning difficulties etc. But I need more topics to discuss. What would make you call in to a radio show to ask for advice about?

What can I do to help my child the summer before school, to prepare for reading.

What do I do if my child refuses to read her book/tag words?

What are tag words, what do we do with them? Are they supposed to learn the 'whole' word or decode it?

What do I write in the reading journal?

What do i say when my child gets stuck on a word? Do I just say it so we keep momentum up or do I get her to decode it (but then slow down the story).

I find it frustrating hearing her read, so any tips on how not to get frustrated would be good.

Will you post the answers?
