I just want to praise my DD's fab teacher.

I think teachers sometimes get a bit of stick on Mumsnet so I wanted to say how great my DD's year 3 teacher is.

My DD usually adores school but last week, for various reasons, she didn't want to go. Her teacher left her classroom on two mornings and met DD in the cloakroom to reassure her and give her a hug and take her into class. And on Friday she was standing in the playground waiting for her.

I'm well aware she has 29 other pupils and was really grateful for the effort she put into helping DD this week.

I'm very happy with DS's reception teachers. If the kids have an erm accident they even put the clothes through the wash for you

That is what you call a good teacher
It makes such a difference having a teacher that takes the time

I didn't warm to her much when I first met her in September. Just goes to show that first impressions can be wrong!

A good education and pastoral care is solely down to the teacher delivering it and there are many brilliant ones ... unfortunately there also many crap ones too. Same in all walks of life, i sopose. I remember all my fab teachers and theirs were the subjects I did really well in exams - funny that I'd like to 'THANK YOU" to them!!

My dd's yr 5 teacher was absolutely wonderful. Dd has blossomed because of this woman, and I shall be eternally grateful to her.

There are some amazing teachers out there.

DD's year 1 teacher is a young male probaly mid 20's and is brilliant. All the class love him - you can seen from how they with him when they arrive for school, and they way he interacts with them is just great. And he was brilliant at parents' evening - it was clear that he knew my child really well, not just from an academic point of view, but he knew her personality too.

My DD's teacher which she has had for yr5 and yr6 is wonderful. DD adores school and her teacher says she looks forward to her morning hug. She is loud and brash and has 5 children of her own and she knows how children tick.

My DS's yr7maths /yr8 science teacher is very good as well. He just came back from the army in afghanistan but he really encouraged and inspired him.
