Flamechick seems to have "clicked" with reading

After painful, painful battles with her reading (she wanted to do it, it just wasn't happenin), last night she sat and read me her book - a much longer, more wordy one than normal, and it was a case of her reading TO me rather than me helping her read

The look of delight on her face was incredible

Congrats!

So it does seem to be a case of it 'clicking'?. I am currently in the 'painful' stage with DD. She is 5 and in Yr 1 (summer baby).

Can I ask how old your DD is? And do you have any tips on how i can help my DD? Other than simply to keep practising?

Sorry, lots of questions!

Flamesparrow · 10/11/2008 18:13

Yup, def clicking. All we have done is the practising most nights. She is in yr1, may baby

Ah bless!! This is why I LOVE teaching Y1 as it often clicks during this year. Great when they realise they can do it isn't it?
