Dressing up reception child as a story/nursery rhyme character...any ideas?

My dd has to go dressed as a character from a story or nursery rhyme. I am useless at coming up with ideas so if anyone can help with any easy ideas I would be grateful. Please keep it easy as I'm 6 months pregnant with twins!

Little red riding hood with a red hooded cardy and a pinafore dress and a basket of flowers/food

or the same but with a white or blue cardy, a stick and a soft toy lamb for little bo peep

my ds is going as a cow. brown clothes and shoes, tail made out of wool, cow mask and white splodges stuck on clothes. Oh and not to forget the rubber glove stuck to his tummy
