Son being bullied due to glasses ? good book to read to class

Am fizzing, class bully (reception) last week tried to cut one of my twins hair, this week is calling my other twin four eyes and hitting him.
I am in the school next week to read them a story, was planning to do stick man, had made a stick man too. Might want to hit bully with stick and not good!!!!
Can anyone think of a good book I could read, as I don't know one called STOP picking on my boys!
Like Frog and the stranger, Max Velthuijs, but only a small book ? too small for class reading.

(sorry it's a long one)

sorry - never copied and pasted before!

Ignore the 'find it at the library' bit

you could type the book into Amazon or your local library and see if they have it

Chozzer · 30/09/2008 11:01

Thanks Majeika....didn't think of that!

that's just daft. yr r children have a huge all about me topic which celebrates difference. they've got loads of books on how we are all different etc etc etc. just ask the teacher to rev up the topic as it is already an issue. oh, and try not to label 'class bully' this early in the term. maybe the little dear has a few issues you aren't party to.
blimey, where are you anyway? dd2 has a squint, glasses,a wheelchair and talks like beavis and butthead, and no-one has picked on her yet lol!

Romy7 · 30/09/2008 11:03

oh, and lol at you using the opportunity to educate the class about your son. it did make me giggle a bit, sorry. i must be more specific next time i pop in to help lol.

Chozzer · 30/09/2008 11:04

Sorry if the bully comment has offended.

Every parent/ carer has been asked to go in and read if they have time, he also has an eye patch , just thought it might help, not just him but the other children with glasses.

I think you are quite entitled to dislike a child who attacks BOTH your children. Blimey. No matter what might be going on with the child (and it's possible he's just being plain nasty) this behaviour needs to be stopped.

Good luck with the class reading but I would talk to the teacher about covering respect for others and not teasing or making hurtful personal comments.

Majeika · 30/09/2008 11:10

I would speak to the teacher first before you decide to go in and talk to them about the glasses.

Maybe let her read the books to the class

Does she know about the 'bully'? Does she know ds is being picked on?

Chozzer · 30/09/2008 11:22

I have spoken to her, will see how it goes, maybe go back to stick man then.

not offended lol. i've been known to label a child 'fangs' on a ten minute acquaintance . they've got story bags here so it's a case of popping in and choosing a bag rather than picking your own lol. saves any unintentional drama when mrs x complains about billy's story that wasn't vetted by the panel
we had uproar here about the queen's knickers. and as for cinderella's bum, that nearly caused a riot. it's trickier than you think, this reading stuff... have fun!
