Ds1 has no trousers for school on Thursday

So I have just been round our big shopping centre to get ds1 some new trousers - he is 7, and his age 4-5 trousers are too short...

we tried every shop. The closest we got was in M&S, age 6 trousers. Fine for length. But unfortunately they fell off. Literally. The waist was wider than his bottom.

Am going to try Adams tomorrow, but otherwise I am totally stuck and he will have to wear shorts. He is just too thin.

Is that why they are called snake belts - because they are for people with snake hips?

mine will wear shorts until October

(although today I found a brand new still with labels on pair of M&S school trousers in DS1's wardrobe they are too small for him but fit DS2 )

next have adjustable waist!

Anchovy · 02/09/2008 23:22

Ah, LS, that'll be why I don't wear them!

Adams have adjustable waits - they were my saviour for DS1 (tall skinny) with their adjustable waist.

I had a look in Next, couldn't see anything suitable. Will let you know how I get on in Adams!

My ds2 is very thin - we have had success with John Lewis organic cotton trousers. Reasonably priced too.

Was about to come in with a JL recommendation too!

THe problem with those is firstly they are quite expensive, and also I need 'non-iron' trousers because I am frankly useless at ironing. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Well Adams came up trumps! They have adjustable waists, but aren't stupidly big to begin with, so don't look all bunched up round the waist. So he has trousers.

Adams and Next both are slim fitting and have adjustable waists. Next wears slightly better and needs less ironing.
