my pfb is starting 'big girls school' in the morning.

she is all tucked up in bed. with her hair perfectly cornplaited and smelling nice after her bath.

i am about to start ironing and laying out new uniform for in the morning so that we are superorganised and there is no shouting.

this is how things are going to be now. all nice and neat and organised

she is not just starting any school she is starting at the best primary in our town and all her friends will be well behaved and will not know any bad words as they will come from the nice part of town. they will have yummy mummy's who lunch and go to the gym and things and i will join them and become a yummy mummy

my pfb is a little gobshite and common as muck will she still make friends or will i be known as the mum of 'that one'?

yep, you will be the mummy of 'that one' and i bet you couldnt care less

haha! no i probably dont! lol! i very much doubt that i will be a 'yummy mummy' either.

Can't reassure, but I will be in your boat on wednesday night. Am feeling a tiny bit trembly lipped already.

My PFB (who in the past 2 weeks seems to have been possessed of an evil spirit and suddenly can't dress/wipe himself) starts next Monday. Nametags are on uniform but I am in denial

was my pfb 1st full day today, left for school this morning all self important with her packed lunch in tow!!

I think she thinks she's a lady who lunches now!!

Same boat here too, my PFB doesn't seem at all interested that he is starting school on Wednesday but has decided he just CAN'T remember how to put his shoes on, do his coat up etc since I said what a big boy he was being able to do these things!

Maybe he knows more than he is letting on!

no packed lunches she says she is staying for school dinners because they serve spinache and riccota quiche and salmon. i dont think she even knows what they are!!!

its only half a day tommorrow and she comes home for lunch for the rest of the week, then she can stay for her poncy school dinners.

good lordy - if our schools served that I'd go for lunch too lol

we had to go in last week for a trial school lunch with the kids - I took dd2 and left dd3 with dh, dd2 decided to whip off her pants in the middle of the dinner hall for a wee wee - I was of course at the other end of the hall and disaster only averted by the swift actions of the head teacher

hence one of the reasons we're 'that' family already

sorry dizzy but pmsl!! i had the quiche when we had our trial lunch at dd1's school. it was quite nice actually. dd1 had pasta and something. she enjoyed it.

I had a veggie lasagne which tasted ok but didn't resemble any lasagne I've ever seen!

I've also managed to be late to pick her up one afternoon due to clock in car being wrong and I sent her in a blue checked dress when the uniform is red and the world's biggest school bag for a 5yr old - you could have folded her in half and put her in it!

never mind, maybe I'll get it right by time dd2 goes in 3 yrs lol

My ddi starts tomorrow too, but there is only one school in our village so they're all lumped in together. I will most deinfitely be the one yelling 'Stop pulling your knickers out your bum' as dd1 is forever hoiking at her pants. No problems with dd2 in that area, she was born to wear a thong, never notices a wedgie

ooh we really are superprganised this morning. im up and dressed both dds are now up and eating their breakfast. dd1 is v tired because she wouldnt sleep last night so i have been a bit naughty and made her a cup of tea

she says she is looking forward to school and can she walk there on her own when she learns the way? methinks no.

My pfb starts reception tomorrow and couldn't sleep last night for worrying.

Goodness knows why as he's been at the pre-school in the same building. Am seriously worried though how we're going to be ready to get out of the house by 8am with 8 month old as well.

i was up at 6 because i was worried about the same thing. poor dd2 didnt know what was going on when i went and woke her up at 6:45.

she was at a different nuresry because we are moving house soon so her school is quite a walk untill we move. hopefully before the snow comes.

what are cornplaits? are they the same as french plaits?

yup! her hair has to be tied back neat and tidy or she will be sent to the nurses office to get it done and i will be called into school to discuss why she hasnt got her hair done. cornplaits/french plaits are the only things she wont take out herself. but they take ages to do on her because she wont sit still so i did them last night.

well i have been let down again!! bah! i wanted hugs and kisses and i will miss you mummy. or at least goodbye.

but no not dd1. instead i got;
"do you want me to find your peg with you?"
dd1; "no i will find it myself"

dd1; "teacher says there is some one in the corridor who will help me find my class. im in class two arent i? im going to find it now. you and dd2 can go home. bye" and that was it she walked off into the corridor.

see what i meant about her being gobby? ah well i suppose its better than her crying and clinging to me.

I am hoping that is what ds1 will be like tomorrow morning. If he cries I will then ds2 will and we will be known as the soppy family forever [hangs head in shame]

well she is back and all my worrying was as usual for nothing she loves her new school and has wrote me a letter telling me how much she loves it .

she has made two friends but forgot to ask what thier name was. one is a boy and she cant remember if they other was a boy or a girl she has been chasing bumble bees with them apparently. and yes this is the same girl that was hysterical on sunday night over an imaginary bee

hehe my son has his first day at big school tomorrow as well. He is going to a posh private school and I think I will be THAT WOMAN in no time at all.

I am loud, quite fat and very Australian. Was shocked to be told by quite a posh friend that I shouldn't wear my gym gear to school drop off, as will get talked about. This is going to be FUN.

Heh, DD is all dressed for school (bet this is the first time we're all ready to go by this time in the morning, she is sitting on the floor playing and every time she stands up to get something she ... yes, pulls her knickers out of her bum. Given that her cardigan is cinching her skirt up to about four inches above her knee it's probably just as well, as otherwise someone or other is going to SEE her bum today. If she manages to keep freeing them it'll just be her Little Miss Stubborn* pants they see.
