Good primary school in north / east Redbridge or south Essex

Hi all, currently choosing a primary school for DS. My top priorities are well behaved children / good school discipline and strong focus on academics and helping all children to achieve their potential. My preference is a smaller school (2 forms max).
I don’t have any friends or relatives with primary school aged children in the area so I’d appreciate some recent first hand experiences (good / bad).
I hope to be going for a grammar school for secondary education so I’d be interested to know if any of the primary schools offer extra support in this area or have better success rates.
Thank you.

Are we talking independent prep or state primary? As an aside: Competition for places at Ilford County High and Woodford High (the Redbridge grammars) is absolutely cut-throat: practically everyone tutors extensively (private tutors) and I definitely wouldn’t rely on a state primary to prepare kids for the assessment(s).

State primary is the preference but also considering independent prep schools so any feedback is welcomed.
Yes agreed about the grammars needing extensive private tutoring. I was just wondering if any of the state primaries do actually provide any support. I did have some (pretty limited) assistance when going through the process myself in year 6 at a state primary many, many years ago.

I cannot speak to what prep state primaries do as my child didn’t go to one of those. Pls DM me if you’d like my view on the prep school he did attend (and from which he moved this year).
