Is 8am to 5pm too long for 4DS at school?!

I have just been offered a job which means I need to put DS in breakfast club 2 days a week, and one of those days will also include after-school club until 5pm. Friday will be until 4.30ish. I will be getting him the other days.

Other people must be doing this so please let me know if you think this is too long for that day, or if you do the same so I feel better about myself

I think its fine. My youngest just turned 6 and he loves breakfast club and afterschool.

Breakfast club is a really short time and they love having breakfast with friends. Of course they make the best toast which is better than the toast I make.

In afterschool, he does his homework and then mostly plays. They will do crafts one day a week and actually make really good things!

You'll find DC is tired as they adjust to it. Sometimes we give 6yo an earlier night and weekends are pretty relaxed now.

In your position I would definitely try it out. Good luck!

Thanks everyone! I was probably worried for no reason (first child.. can you tell 😂). I'll go for it. I'll be there 3 days out of 5 to get him, which is way better than I could have done in my old job!!
