My daughter seems as ready as she can be considering she only turned 4 last month but it’s me who will really struggle I think! It feels like such an end of an era and I’m going to miss my little pal being with me. Anyone else feel like sobbing or is it just me??

Yes it is the end of an era for you. For your daughter it is the start of her next big adventure - do not spoil this for her! Big girl pants on, tell her how exciting it will be and maybe plan something nice for tea when she comes home.

Mate my oldest is 20 and I have two more. I cried at every single one of their last years at schools, proms everything. Just don’t do it in front of them. You’re trying to raise productive young members of society so just be full of praise for them and be excited with them as they embark on their new adventure

I think this is just part and parcel of being a mum isn’t it! Yes I’m all smiles in front of her, validating any worries but focussing on how amazing it will be to make new friends and learn new things.

It’s my baby’s settling in week at nursery next week as well, then back to work after mat leave the week after so I’m nervous for us all if I'm honest!
