We really liked two houses - one is on Kingsmead Avenue and the other one on Salisbury Road. Any suggestions on these areas? Also would really appreciate any recommendations on nursery/ primary schools around these please? Is it common and possible at all to send dc from Worcester Park to Wimbledon for good independent schools? Any parents who do this? All advice much appreciated!

Hi. I know the area a bit so my thoughts …

Kingsmead Avenue obvious choice is Cheam Common schools at the end of the road. Well thought of locally. Big (4 form entry I think?) Part of Leo Academy chain which is a large local academy and seems to be well resourced and organised with lots of Leo internal events and opportunities.
Salisbury Road obvious choice would be The Mead Infant and Auriol Junior school. 3 form entry. Also well regarded . Part of Bourne Education Trust which has schools more in Epsom and Ewell. More field space than Cheam Common. Both have wrap around care.
Cuddington Community Primary school on the road itself is a smaller 1 form entry school part of The Howard Partnership and I don’t know so much about it - most people seem to want the mead / auriol.

Are you set on private school for secondary ? If not the catchment for secondary is vastly different for both roads if that will ever be a future consideration.
i don’t know of many going to Wimbledon for private (this area a lot aim for Sutton grammar schools) but there is a direct train to Wimbledon from Worcester park station or bus from North Cheam. I know a few that go to Ewell Castle which is possibly the nearest private (or Sutton High or Epsom College).

I would actually think about driving and traffic. Worcester park high street is notorious for being stand still at certain times going down to the A3 / Kingston. If you are at Kingsmead you are right at the top of the high street and would get stuck in it driving down. So
Salisbury Road = easier access to Tolworth / Surbiton / New Malden / Kingston / the A3.

kingsmead avenue = easier access to North Cheam / Sutton / Morden / Wimbledon.
Kingsmead Avenue gets clogged up with school traffic - it is a ‘school street’ so no cars between certain times at one end and they are talking about a yellow line.

Oh and for general vibes - Kingsmead is right next to the high street so very quick access to shops , buses etc. Still close to a park in walking distance (Cuddington Rec) and Nonsuchpark not too far but feels more ‘urban’than SalisburyRoad which is a longer walk to high street/ station /buses but closer to a local park. Depending on which end you are you might be closer to Ewell by pass than Worcester park station.
