Admissions to CM2 to Lycee Français Charles de Gaulle

My daughter is studying overseas (currently in CM1 so year 5) and we might have to relocate to London. Does anyone now how hard it is to be admitted to the Lycee before transition point to 6eme? Is the lycee still very oversubscribed or has this mellowed since Brexit happened? We are in a school belonging to the Aefe, if that helps ie not coming from France either.
Also, how welcoming is the lycee for a 9 year old child?
Many many thanks for any info.

Would it be better to post in Secondary education?

I'm in a very similar situation, and have just applied (but for Petite Section and Grande Section). We are also (hopefully) transferring from an AEFE establishment abroad, and this is listed as one of the "priority criteria" for the lycee. I've heard it's not quite as difficult nowadays (ie post-Brexit) to get a spot, but I haven't heard that it is necessarily easy, either. Have you already applied, or are just planning to? We've already applied and will hopefully hear back within the month.

@Veronica75018 I have not finished the depot de dossier as we still don't quite have an address but hoping to do it within this current cycle for admissions. I am just a bit worried as my daughter has already had quite a few school moves and would really like that if she is admitted, she stays at the site in South Kensington as opposed to having to adapt twice from CM2 to 6ème.
So difficult! Thank you for replying. Feeling a bit worried and not having anyone to talk to about this just makes it seem worse than it probably is in reality.

You should join the Facebook group “Mamans Françaises à Londres”. Lots of mums will be able to help you. Good luck!

@Ilovesweetsandchoc Thank you. I will definitely check it out.

I can really relate to this, I also can't really talk to anyone about this because we haven't yet announced that we are moving to London.

I agree with the other poster to join that FB group, there is a lot of useful information there. In my case, I'm really hoping we get places for both kids at the south kensington location because I really need to be done with two separate school drop-offs & pick-ups, which we are currently doing...

We've also moved around quite a bit and I'm looking forward to finally having some stability with schooling. Since I've already applied for the admission cycle that is currently being reviewed, I'll come back to post about whether we got spaces! I'm very optimistic (wishful thinking!) since we are transferring from an AEFE school abroad, which is meant to be the third criteria for priority. Let's see ☺️
