I haven't seen another thread similar to previous years, so thought it would be beneficial to start one as exams are now 1 month away.
I think SHHS, UCS, KCJS and WUS are all in October.

Also - Curious to see if number of applicants are down this year, with Labour's VAT raid.

@San2023 It was good while it lasted, oh well. 360 it is.

If I were you guys I’d just ask any teacher upon collection.

Caps0218 · 23/11/2024 11:56

Sitting in the car and watching the first pick-up....certainly does not seem as full as the 2nd...

Anyone from 8.15 drop off from group A- D? Can you confirm this? Morning I didn't see many at A- D door and while pick up also same? Didn't see many at these doors.

Over 300 kids were taking the exam - we were told by one of the teachers today

Caps0218 · 23/11/2024 14:52

SJPS - DS said that he found mental maths and dictation ok. Maths was ok, though a few questions were hard. Didn’t get much more out of him.

OP posts:
Choberia · 23/11/2024 18:17

DS felt it was all mostly ok, but couldn’t finish the VR. Always so hard to tell what really went on!

CocoaLemon · 23/11/2024 18:31

Didn't get much from DS. It was similar level of difficulty as WUS, and slightly harder than Kings according to him.
Anyone got anything more specific?

Caps0218 · 23/11/2024 18:44

DS said similar. In order of easy to hard:
VR - SPJS, WUS, KCJS
NVR - WUS, SPJS
Maths - WUS, KCJS, SPJS
Comprehension - KCJS, SPJS, WUS

Did your boys managed to answer the last bonus question in maths?

He answered the last question, but he can’t remember what it was!

Something about winks between a group of people. It was a mixture of maths and reasoning

My son said it was about shake hands before dinner. 😀

PunnyPearlTurtle · 23/11/2024 19:46

Yes! Handshakes and winks 🤷‍♀️

Caps0218 · 23/11/2024 19:51

Something about you can only shake hands with the person to the left and right?

OP posts:
Caps0218 · 23/11/2024 20:02

How many Qs were their in the comprehension?

OP posts:
PunnyPearlTurtle · 23/11/2024 20:03

Yes. Maybe we shouldn’t get into more details as some children might have been unwell and sit the exam another day (they may change the papers, I don’t know) But I just wanted to know how other boys found this question. Mine answered it and only found VR a bit challenging

Caps0218 · 23/11/2024 20:04

I didn’t think SJPS had a reserve day, results are out on Monday and interviews from Tuesday.

Hi, I agree going into detail in terms if questions should not be allowed. Isn’t there a moderator here somewhere or perhaps we can ask everyone to self moderate? Thank you

St Paul’s don’t have reserve days.

Ok you might be right

PunnyPearlTurtle · 23/11/2024 20:23

Anyway, won’t be a long wait. Good luck to everyone

PunnyPearlTurtle · 23/11/2024 20:28

I asked. He doesn’t remember :/

Caps0218 · 23/11/2024 20:30

Did everyone manage to finish the comprehension, our DS ran out of time and guessed the last 1.

DS agrees. He didn’t have time to answer the bonus maths question he says
