North London schools - boy to girl ratio for Sept intake?

My child is going to start reception this September in a state primary school in North London. The school is 2 form entry and there are 19 boys in one class and 20 in the other (out of 30). My friend’s child starting a 3 form entry mentioned that it’s the same in that school too. I’m hoping my daughter will find a nice group of friends.

Wondered if it was very boy heavy in other areas or just our particular area within North London.

Oh interesting. We’re in south London but I’ve heard similar about the ratios.

I wonder if ONS has the stats of boys and girls born in 2019/20 by region to see whether it really is a thing.

We're in West London and we have a few more boys than girls in DS class (Reception); about 60:40.

I do hate the way that it ends up becoming so divided based on gender. Even down to the fact that when they hold hands to go on a trip, boys are always paired up with boys and girls are always paired up with girls. I think my DS is quite unusual as his two best friends - at least at the moment! - are girls and he tends to hang out with them just as much as the boys.
