Hi all. I am exploring Exmouth suburbs as a place to move in and send children to primary school (St Joseph's Catholic school). What is it like to live there? What areas are to be avoided when renting out or buying ? What areas are recommended for young families with children to settle in? I would be grateful for any comments, especially from locals or people knowing job and property market there! I have been there many times at the seaside and we love going back, I wonder how Exmouth is like to live:) Maybe people commute too to larger town like Exeter for work/schools? Thanks x

Education seems to be very quiet! It might be worth posting in Property (since you are relocating and need to know about areas) or even Chat to see if you get a better response.

It might also be worth your while joining the ‘mums in Exeter’ FB site (sorry there is no dads in Exeter site) and also ‘Exmouth Community’ FB site as there will be lot of people on there who can advise.

there is a regular bus service from exmouth to Exeter and trains too. Traffic can be challenging as there seem to be constant roadworks on the main exmouth Exeter route. The town centre has deteriorated with banks closing and looking at closing another one now and lots of charity shops and barbers (money laundering…as a very high number for the size of the town). Leisure centre is very good value. There is only one secondary school (one of the largest in the country) and does not have a great reputation, but there is a grammar school at Colyton. Sixth form college in Exeter is rated outstanding.
