We are going to look at them in person and I've read the Ofsted reports but wondered if anyone had experience of the following schools

Alderbrook
Ravenstone
Henry Cavendish
Telferscot
Bonneville

Thanks

Someone I know has 2 children at Bonneville, and they seem happy enough. She is a teacher in another borough, and she is happy for her children to be at Bonneville, so I assume she must be happy from an informed pov - though I haven't spoken to her in depth about it.

I think you might have to live close to Telferscot and HC to get in?

Thanks Blu
We are closest to HC

No personal experience but Henry Cavendish has a v good reputation, most people in that area are desperate to get their children in there over other local schools.

Thank you
Everyone I know with school age kids goes private

I know some kids at HC - they are bright, articulate and well behaved, and seem to like the school. Oh and their parents are lovely. Does that help?

TheBlonde · 26/02/2008 14:33

yes that helps, thanks

I have close friends with kids at Henry Cavendish and Ravenstone. Both seem to be excellent - HC has better play facilities and a pool! I would go for that one if I were you. But you can apply to Ravenstone as well as first choice as it is in Wandsworth and HC is in Lambeth. The friend whose son goes to HC lives on Alderbrook Rd but said she was v much not impressed with Alderbrook Primary - not sure why, but I think it was to do with discipline problems.

bumping - any opinions on Telferscot?

My daughter is at Bonneville and is really happy there. It is a great school - very big on finding the children's strengths and developing their confidence in who they are. The children are very well behaved too. It is a great mix of children. They do lots of art and music with plenty of after-school clubs. She is also doing really well academically. She has made lots of nice friends and I have met lots of great parents. I would really recommend it.

Have no direct experience of any of these but I know that Telferscot and Henry Cavendish are the sorts of schools at which parents are very keen to get places and will appeal if they don't (if you see what I mean).

Thanks
